purling TLCP is close to my heart for being a show not so much about everything going wrong as about insisting on making space for compassion and integrity in the face of everything going wrong, and it wouldn't be quite the same show without the music. Favorite track: Clap Your Hands.

marius_trusler This album and the podcast it is for are both brilliant, but this specific song is such a comfort, and one I've listened to hundreds of times. Favorite track: By The Moonless Night.

For the lies I have told, and the debts I have owed, I walked that midnight road With no regret and no blame, and nothing to my name, to the crossroads I came and I lit a fire in an old busted tire and I summoned the devil down And he pulled out his knife, and I pulled out my gun, and I shot the devil down Oh Joe don’t you go, down to the crossroads tonight Oh Joe don’t you know, what the devil knows? And he fell to the ground, without any sound, and lay there in the dark I took his life, then I took his knife, and I cut out his heart and I sat and I cried, threw his bones in the fire, and they burnt like coal. I cooked his heart in the flames, I finished the game, and I ate the devil’s soul Oh Joe don’t you go, down to the crossroads tonight Oh Joe don’t you know, what the devil knows? The fire burnt low, the embers did glow, I was joined by a figure in white she said no more tears, you have nothing to fear, from the night or from the light we made love on the ground, the sky whirled around, and she left without a sound. With nothing to hide, and god on my side, I decided to stay a while. Oh Joe don’t you go, down to the crossroads tonight Oh Joe don’t you know, what the devil knows?

There once was a girl who was made out of snow and she would leave puddles wherever she would go and when she was happy she started to cry and of course loved a boy who cheated and lied When he left her for nothing, she was hard as a stone so these things go and the drunken priest watched her stand at the end of the pier heard her singing a song and then just disappear Well a storm came from the sea and settled over the town and it ripped up the roofs and made a terrible sound and the bell of the church blew around for a day and then fell on the priest and then tolled him away The wood ripped and thundered and swirled through the air all through the year and the rain turned to snow and then buried them deep then the snow turned to rain and they drowned in their sleep and it rained rocks and dogs and a frozen red wine and the town learnt to sing the Song of Madelline Well they drank until morning, and then wrapped themselves warm they called on her name and then headed in to the storm they hauled up the nets that they laid in the street for the thousands of fish that lay dead at their feet and the boy he came home, grew rich and grew old so these things go but the rocks and the wood and the snow and the wine and the town all sing on to the Song of Madelline.

What else are you doing? You smoked your cigarette. Come on there’s nothing on the tv. The Slaughterhouse is open, every Friday night, There’s a party you can go with me. And from the blood on the floor, the gristle on the saw the piles of glasses, teeth and car keys, And the scratches on the door tell us those that came before Went down, down, down to the Slaughterhouse. Let’s get killed. There’s tinsel on the handles, and flowers on the grates The boys will follow girls wherever they go. And the blades will make the rhythm, screams will make the tune When the first cut comes that’s the start of the show. There is petrol in the air, and the smell of burning hair When the angel’s dress goes up she does a striptease. And at night the only lights on anywhere in the town are down, down, down at the Slaughterhouse. Have ourselves a time. Your bedroom smells like newspapers, your linen smells like smoke and the cities are all empty but for people. And you can hear the road from anywhere, the tiny clacking sound machinery to keep a corpse alive. See how much you’ve grown, have you ever seen your bones? Don’t worry every part of you is used. And when all that’s left is shoes, someone else will sing the blues Down, down down at the Slaughterhouse And have ourselves a time.

Lover hold me As the darkness grows And the night goes slowly Lover I will hold you close And the dark will go No fear i’ll know By the moonless night Beneath the starless sky Upon the fallen leaves By the silent sea As the cold winds howl I will hold you close And keep us in that One light One bright Moment of Peace within your arms.

Come on gather round, there’s a storm outside there’s a tale to tell, about a man who lied and he left his bride, there on his wedding night to sail across the sea and there to fight. Now I tried to make her happy as I kept her warm at night and I know that she was lonely for her own and when he died they brought her back his burnt black bones Clap your hands, clap your hands, clap your hands to the funeral band Come on clap your hands, clap your hands We’re going way down to the bottom of the world. Well we saved some wood and piano string for the happy songs we forgot to sing now come in close, it’s getting cold now the fires are down all around the town Did you ever hear the story of my sweetheart Saint Marie? The only thing she left us were her shoes. And when the night draws in we can burn them too. Clap your hands, clap your hands, clap your hands to the funeral band Come on clap your hands, clap your hands We’re going way down to the bottom of the world. Come on now: the band’s about to play We had our time and now it’s gone away so boys and girls now if you please, everyone get on your knees and pray. Can you feel the beat, filling up your ears? Like a steady drum, like a rising hum. Now you can scream, if you are scared, but nobody will hear you for the beat in theirs Everybody has a monster on the other side of the world and every beat’s another step towards you. And when he’s right behind you he will stop… Clap your hands, clap your hands, clap your hands to the funeral band Come on clap your hands, clap your hands We’re going way down to the bottom of the world.

Welcome to the Black Keys, where we dance like crabs and monkeys there’s a pot there for your car keys coz we know what you’re like. And we’re there every night at seven, but it was a little passed eleven as this lady walked inside out of the night. Well come on over you can share my little booth I wouldn’t trust the water how about a dry Vermouth? My baby’s got a secret, let’s just see how long she keeps it In The Black Keys on a Friday night. Well she looked like Audrey Hepburn, ‘cept she still liked to keep her hair long and it came down to the start of her short silk skirt that was made by Pierre Cardin, I’ll admit it I got a hard on and I undid the top two buttons of my shirt. Stay a while if you like a little dance maybe a little conversation, maybe be a little romance. My baby’s got a secret, let’s just see how long she keeps it In The Black Keys on a Friday night. Upstairs there’s a hotel, where the porter swears he won’t tell, all the scenes he sees through the keyhole he says ‘I don’t know what you mean?’. He sees the blood pooling in the ashtray, the semen on the light-shade as it burns and then it turns in to steam. It’s getting late, I think you missed the last train I’ll buy you the next drink you tell me your middle name again. My baby’s got a secret, let’s just see how long she keeps it In The Black Keys on a Friday night. The rest of the night was a haze of tequila and rum. What can you do when you’re done? I woke up in suite 35b, she wasn’t there beside me and the bed was as empty as a squeezed lime and she didn’t even leave a note, but in the pocket of my coat was 76 dollars for my time. I knew the score but what the hell was I supposed to think? I went down to The Black Keys bought the bartender a drink. My baby’s got a secret, let’s just see how long she keeps it In The Black Keys on a Friday night.

When it’s deep in the night, and everybody’s sleeping there are cats on the prowl, and ghosts in the air. And i’ll come scratching at your window, come knocking on your door If I ask now, will you say yes? Touch up your lips and wear that dress. And I will show you the town, and show the streets, and I will show the skin and what’s underneath. And I will sing you a song, get you back before the dawn Everybody’s lonely here. There ain’t nothing left to fear When the cats away, the mice are gonna play on a slide trombone in some alley down the way And if you feel it like you mean it life’s to short for feeling blue so what you gonna do with all that loving inside of you? Well in the morning, wake up with him kiss him on the cheek maybe fix yourself another drink and remember the night, turn off all the lights sing that simple melody, and dance that little dance back on over to me When the cats away, the mice are gonna play on a slide trombone in some alley down the way And if you feel it like you mean it life’s to short for feeling blue so what you gonna do with all that loving inside of you? The drinks are spiked with something, the band is really pumping Old Mad Joe’s got his hands on his shoes. And everybody’s got one secret thing they want to lose so what you gonna do? Everybody’s lonely here. There ain’t nothing left to fear When the cats away, the mice are gonna play on a slide trombone in some alley down the way And if you feel it like you mean it life’s to short for feeling blue so what you gonna do with all that loving inside of you?

The sun shone down and it lit your hair like fire long ago, far away, bright was the day. So loud, the singing and shouting in the square all day long, sing the new songs and then the rain came over the mountains and the wind came in from the sea and we ran back through gathering gloom up all the stairs to your room and the bed where we lay oh bright was the day. And I swear I don’t remember the reasons why I left the years do fade, but my mind still strays after I put the children to bed. I guess that I did not believe what you believed to your war! My red-haired warrior! But then men came and blocked off the square and then men came with masks on their faces and guns pointed in to the crowd that moved like a wave, then turned into smoke and then drifted away and I watched every night on the news for your face these days when I hear those songs play long ago and far away bright was the day.

For everyone above and everyone below For everyone above and everyone below Well the Devil came up for Mr Jones The Devil came up for Mr Jones Said “I’m gonna take your soul tonight, gonna take your soul and make it mine.” Come on. Come on And the Devil said “I weep for your father and I weep for your mother and I weep for your sister and I weep for your brother. For everyone above and everyone below” The Devil said “I weep for your God-damned soul.” Come on. Come on. And Jones said “Lord won’t you save my soul I’ll be a good boy when I am old. You love your children yeah you love them all Ah Lordy won’t you come and save my soul.” Come on. Come on. Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah! Jones said “Lord won’t you hear my call?” The Lord said “Jones, I don’t know you at all.” Come on. Come on. Now the Lord said “Devil know you treat him mean.” “Well, I’ll be the meanest that I ever have been.” The Lord said “You put him in your deepest cell.” And Jones just laughed and said “What the hell!” And the Devil said “I weep for your father and I weep for your mother and I weep for your sister and I weep for your brother. For everyone above and everyone below” The Devil said “I weep for your God-damned soul.” Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah! Sing Hallelujah!

Oh Lord won’t you help me find my way I’m lost as in a deep forest With no stars to guide me, no moon to light my way Oh Lord won’t you help me find my way for i’m lost, lost, lost. I know i’m not as bad as some I still have food on my table and a bed at night, friends to keep me right I know i’m not as bad as some but i’m lost, lost, lost Deep in the heart of these dark, dark woods there’s nobody here by me and the one who blinds me, who hides the paths and binds me Now deep in the heart of these dark, dark woods, there’s nobody here but me. Oh Lord won’t you help me find my way I’m lost as in a deep forest With no stars to guide me, no moon to light my way Oh Lord won’t you help me find my way for i’m lost, lost, lost. Lost, lost, lost.

My time and a bottle of wine They’re mine to do with as I please Oh sir, don’t play the chider My time and a bottle of wine they’re mine to do with as I please Don’t get me wrong, sir I’ll share a glass with you As we get older, less time for running now who’ll look back fonder, now that the running’s done? My time and a bottle of wine Join me or go in peace One bottle, two glasses, three cheers, for all All in all and all will come in time, and wine Leave off your tricks and ploys and all your endless noise run your race or take a place: your choice. Run your run or stay a while but for god’s sake stop your moaning now All will come will come in time and wine My time and a bottle of wine They’re mine to do with as I please Oh sir, don’t play the chider My time and a bottle of wine Join me or go in peace

Take my hand we’ll take the floor and then we’ll dance until the dawn and when our feet are filled with lead and we have danced until we’ve bled lay down your head In the morning I’ll be gone as many times I should have done All the things you can not say you are bound to lose some way so they say When you see a falling star, dance on it tonight I’ll go dancing every time the stars fall from the sky When you see a falling star, think on it tonight I will of you dear every time the stars fall from the sky When we danced we were on fire No star could have shone so high But this star could not shine so bright this star won’t survive the night It shone so bright When you see a falling star, dance on it tonight I’ll go dancing every time the stars fall from the sky When you see a falling star, think on it tonight I will of you dear every time the stars fall from the sky And know that, when they land its just another romance ended, as ours did somewhere in the night When you see a falling star, dance on it tonight I’ll go dancing every time the stars fall from the sky When you see a falling star, think on it tonight I will of you dear every time the stars fall from the sky Next time that you see the night count the stars up in the sky we danced one down just you and me we danced one down in to the sea.

Burn it all, burn it down Burn the old cathedrals down Altars to the old gods Used as pyres for the fire They’ll keep us warm and give us light, For just one night Learn to fall and you are found Stand your ground and be cut down In the storms in the earthquakes still to come We can not lose for we are lost Amongst the flames and burning buildings We toss and we turn like ashes Amongst the flames and burning buildings We are the ones who learnt to live in fire All our lives, breathing smoke, bleeding light Burn it all to the bone, build a new world In fire, all our lives, breathing smoke, bleeding light Burn it all to the bone. Amongst the flames and burning buildings We are the ones who learnt to live in fire Take my hand, we will stand Barefoot on the broken ground We will dance, we will dance amongst the ruins Face to face, skin to skin We look like demons to them Who look like statues to us Too big to fail too big a burden The more you fight the more the damage done Amongst the flames and burning buildings We are the ones who learnt to live in fire All our lives, breathing smoke, bleeding light Burn it all to the bone, build a new world In fire, all our lives, breathing smoke, bleeding light Burn us all to the bone. Amongst the flames and burning buildings We are the ones who learnt to live in fire

It’s dark outside Though the clocks are all striking the noon The weathermen must have lied It’s dark outside It’s dark outside The birds are all singing the wrong tunes The ones that haven’t died It’s dark outside And what will you do? When there’s nothing to do? And what will you find? When there’s nowhere to hide It’s dark outside It’s alright the lights are still on At least for the meantime And there are sounds in the darkness, There are shapes on the floor And you can’t see a thing more than a foot from the door And there’s movement above you You swear it’s inside And so much more besides It’s dark outside And what of tomorrow? Will we even know? Just sit tight And what of the night? It’s dark outside What will you do for food? Those children are starting to cry It’s dark outside

Strange weather, in the air People boarding up their windows And driving out of town I found my love upon the brow Singing ‘why would I leave now? There ain’t nowhere left to run And it’s only just begun There’s worse storms yet to come.’ Bare warnings, haven’t you heard? About the water building up so long, the damn will never hold If you got money buy a boat Or else you’d best learn how to swim Pretty soon there’ll be no shore So you can’t see how far you’ve swum In the worse storms yet to come In the morning, was it so bad? Everything I lost, was everything I never had Don’t feel down and don’t grow numb What do you think you could have done? Love your father, love your son And be sure to count the bombs For all the wise and all the liars Now the rains and now the fires Do what you can of what can be done Raise your voice and bang your drum Fix your teeth and buy a gun And try and have some fun In the worse storms yet to come

Beneath the night behind the dawn Before we all were even born It was always gonna happen It was always gonna end this way That thing you feel beneath the ground Soon you’ll feel it all around It was always gonna happen It was always gonna end this way Every drum and every gun Might as well shoot at the sun It was always gonna happen It was always gonna end this way Light up, my love! Light all the candles! Burn, my love! Fill this room with light, my love! On this final night My love, light all the candles Burn, my love! Fill this room with light Tonight, and every night It was always gonna happen It was always gonna end this way Don’t get mad and don’t feel blue There’s really nothing you could do All the tears and all the words We’ll find out what comes afterwards Hold my hand open your eyes Walk into this with heads held high Beneath the night behind the dawn Before we all were even born It was always gonna happen It was always gonna end this way Light up, my love! Light all the candles! Burn, my love! Fill this room with light, my love! On this final night My love, light all the candles! Burn, my love! Fill this room with light Tonight, and every night we can My love

Well I tiptoe past the rubbish bins, the pidgeons eat the chicken wings, but still I must admit it: London’s never been more beautiful. And I don’t know what’s come over me, the melody, the harmony, it falls and then it rises, and it’s pleasurable to my soul. Good times, are gonna follow bad Good times, they were the best I ever had You got your man, baby I got this tune Good news for a whiskey singer tired of singing the blues. Well I hear it every where I go, The car horns on Green Lanes and Soho, even the old dirty river is , flowing on slow. I find hard to keep from smiling, tower blocks hold up the sky, from falling down on me, coz I got somewhere new to go. Good times are gonna follow soon Good times unders a summer’s moon Even down in this old town, I found something new Good news for a whiskey singer tired of singing the blues. So goodbye Time to pack away the memories, and leave them behind. Bye bye baby, baby bye bye Good times are follow bad Good times they were the best I ever had every time I hear that song I dance like a loon Good news for a whiskey singer tired of singing the blues.

Let’s all buy a round, let’s all gather round, Big Bald Bessy’s drum! Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna come! Well she’s bald as a football and she’s only got one leg and that’s as thick as a tree-trunk and her bones are filled with lead and she kicked a man to death but that was long ago they say and now she kicks for Jesus singing 'the Lord is on his way!’ And she’ll beat the thunder silent she’ll crash the lightning black she’ll beat the bastards down and then she’ll beat the bastards back Her sticks are made from bones and all her drums are made from skin so: Sing, sing sing! Let’s all buy a round, let’s all gather round, Big Bald Bessy’s drum! Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna come! Her band are all cured lunatics, criminals and scum and to a man they changed their ways when they heard Big Bessy’s drum Napoleon was blown apart when he heard the bugle call and Falstaff sang the melody as he let the city fall And they don’t ask for forgiveness and they don’t ask for reward Damocles says 'if you please, damn your bloody sword!’ Heaven’s full of corpses and the grave is full of kings, so: Sing, sing sing! Let’s all buy a round, let’s all gather round, Big Bald Bessy’s drum! Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna come! It’s cold and it is dark outside, there’s nothing for you there so if you’re feeling lonely come inside and grab a chair the lines of politicians, and the lines of your old songs But Big Bald Bessy plays the lines the stars do move along And the angels fall from heaven the demons from below they’re all still queuing up getting tickets for the show, so: step right up and move along, we’ve got just the thing: Sing, sing sing! Let’s all buy a round, let’s all gather round, Big Bald Bessy’s drum! Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna Sing Hosannah now, the Lord is gonna come!

Turn, and then kick, and then burn, then turn around again to the beat, in this heat, I don’t think I can go on. In the black, in the hole, and i’m gone, without a trace a boot beating down forever into my face Don’t dance in my space i’m out of my zone Don’t crowd in my face i’ll dance my own Get me out of here. Dead orange lights beat down on me I know that I Can not breathe, i’m a thousand miles away from home Don’t dance in my space i’m out of my zone Don’t crowd in my face i’ll dance my own Get me out of here.
22.
Go down to the river, maybe she will forgive you Go down to the river, maybe she will forgive you Go down to the river, maybe she will forgive you But I can not forgive you for the things that you have done I can not forgive you for the things that you have done Go up to the mansion, maybe your father is answering Go up to the mansion, maybe your father is answering Go up to the mansion, maybe your father is answering But I can not forgive you for the things that you have done I can not forgive you for the things that you have done Shout it out in to the rain Whisper it in to a tree Cover it up in poetry But I can not forgive you for the things that you have done I can not forgive you for the things that you have done

Wine, wine is like blood: I need it inside me. Do not waste a drop It proves useful in acts of debauchery Wine, wine is like blood: it is an acquired taste. it reddens the cheek for a kiss and it marks the line twixt chaste and disgraced Wine, wine is like love: it enflames my soul and when I do not have it I need it, I need it so. Be careful when you take another’s always leave them some. It makes a party more dangerous and always a lot more fun Wine, wine is like blood: it makes an embarrassing stain. One is a symbol of God’s sweet mercy and the other is blood. Wine, wine is like love: it enflames my heart and when it all runs out I fall apart. and when it all runs out I fall apart.

This weird old town this broken down old town From the top of the mound, to underneath the ground I’ve been going around and around and around, This weird old town This broken down old town And of all of the things that I have found In this old town: I know the patterns of the paving stones I don’t even trip on one. You learn not to step on any cracks, as it will crush the flowers coming through. I don’t know why I feel so great on this perfectly ordinary day But this old town is my old town and I am here to stay <muffled beeping sound> <talking> There! that weird old sound can you hear it? never mind its time for the next verse: This weird old town this broken down old town I been beaten and been butchered and pushed around But I’m not going down I know where I am by the leviathan I can read the writing on the dark cloud There are gods and monsters round every corner and all of it is real I don’t know why I feel so great on this perfectly ordinary day But this old town is my old town and I am here to stay <muffled beeping sound> But what’s that sound? It’s so vague and undefined like a half remembered dream I feel like I am fading… <beeping sound become clearer> <voice begins fading out> what is that sound… it’s so annoying… I feel like I am fading… what is that sound… <voice fades out completely> <beeping sound resolves into the sound of an alarm clock> <the alarm is turned off>

In my town friends are always around Good morning neighborhood, how are you today? on the streets, sidewalks under my feet Waving hello to the postman on my way Downtown to look for my dog I wonder what adventure he’s leading me on But I know no matter what it will always be OK it’s just another perfectly ordinary day. I could sing everyone is dancing We’re all in unison the moves really slay Join in too, as best as I do Before moving on, my dog wants to play Down the hill to look for my dog I wonder what adventure he’s leading me on But I know no matter what it will always be OK it’s just another perfectly ordinary day. Through the park, but I can’t hear his bark I bet he’s in the square chasing birds away what’s the hole, over by the flagpole Swirling colors and light that don’t seem to fit. I feel scared, this reality’s teared But I bet my dog went through this new way Through the anomaly to look for my dog I wonder what adventure he’s leading me on But I know no matter what it will always be OK it’s just another perfectly ordinary day.

Why is no-one even singing? Why is no-one even dancing? Why is the sun not shining? I don’t understand this world i’m in, this world i’m in. I don’t understand this world I’m in Why can’t the animals even sing? Why is nobody happy, why are people on fire? I don’t understand this world I’m in There are no rainbows only rain There’s rats the size of cats in drains There’s scary statues everywhere There’s something trying to bite me There’s no color only grey and drab There’s sentient sad pavement slabs Spiders hunting up higher Birds are losing the will to fly I don’t understand this world I’m in Why can’t the animals even sing? No-one is happy, why are people on fire? I don’t understand this world I’m in

Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? AP: You’re a reflection in the water left behind When I am gone you disappear, just an image in my mind EJ: Who are you? You'r the shadow on the wall of a cave tangible as rising smoke. With the fire, you will fade AP+EJ: Who is really real, really? Is my voice just reverberations of your clanging of the bell? A character in a story that someone else will tell? Who is really real? Who is really real, really? AP: Now they start to ask the question: maybe they are not real EJ: maybe I am not the one who is the teller of the tale EJ: Hey! You didn’t make me feel that, now I see him doubt himself AP: maybe I am not the one who is the teller of this tale We each wonder how to tell if we are real or dream I am real, or am I real? And just what does this mean? AP+EJ:Who is really real, really? Am I the glowing moon above? or the rays thrown by the sun? Who is really real? Who is really real, really? EJ: The music starts to fade, is my world slipping away? This existential crisis has me questioning everything. What proof could I possibly bring? That my life isn’t also a dream? Capable of ending at the beep of someone else’s alarm The clock gets reset, my world comes to an end I can’t wrap myself around this, how are you staying so calm? I’m lost in this cold grey city and so is my dog i’ve never been so sad and lonely and there’s no-one else around me who can even understand what I try to express I can’t seem to connect but I refuse to accept That I am someone else’s echo in this world that I didn’t expect On this perfectly ordinary day I woke up this morning on a perfectly ordinary day.

When you think you can not go on When the night has gone on too long The weight is too heavy, there are far too many Or you feel there is no one at all When the ties are tied far too tight when the ties that bind are untied. The forces outside, and the pressures inside They’ll crush you like you’re nothing at all There is no light that can dispel this darkness No ladder we can climb from this hell. But I’ll sit with you and offer a glass and some solace in the darkness as well. Don’t worry, it’s far worse than you think Don’t worry, all your fears will come true The quest finally done, the prize so hard won and it wasn’t worth it at all. When the distance is measured in years and you are lost in the space between stars You think you’re alone, well you are all alone with all of us lonely old souls down here as well. There is no light that can dispel this darkness No ladder we can climb from this hell. But I’ll sit with you and offer a glass and some solace in the darkness as well. But I’ll sit with you and offer a glass and some solace in the darkness as well.

Singing a song, to find a dog If we follow this happy tune we’ll find him easily This makes complete sense and it’s totally normal On this: a perfectly ordinary day. Oh no, this doesn’t feel right I think we’ve taken a wrong turning I feel like everything is gonna go bad Do not look at the statues let’s move on Let’s head downhill from the Lightning Tree I can feeling my heart lifting my pace is quickening Everything is going to be OK And as we turn towards The Weeping Park it makes me suddenly introspective. Like 'who is real?’, and 'what is the point?’ It’s a sobering perspective. But this is the right way, I can feel it in the air Come on let’s go. What will we do in the end? Will we have done all that we wanted? Will we have made any difference at all? What will we do in the end? Did you truly love her in your heart? Did you treat them with the kindness they deserved? Did you truly do right by the people that night? Did you truly love her in your heart? When its all over and done with When there’s nothing more to do What will we do in the end? Start again, my friend, start again. Start again, my friend, start again.

Oh my love, hold so light to all of these things that will not last they hold you close, they keep you warm, these beautiful things, my love, are all the earth will sweep away. All the wind will blow away. All the pain you feel, the loss you fear, let them all flower inside your heart hold close the things you push away and hide away from for all in time the tide will wash away all the fire will burn away all the fire will burn away all the tide will wash away all the wind will blow away all the earth will sweep away Sweep away, Sweep away…

The city is old and dark and cold and full of things you can not imagine Run, run just as fast as you can home through echoing canyons Or stay, stay just a little while longer and see what you will see If they want you They will take you There is nothing that you can do If you stare in to the night. Do not fear the shadows, but the lights behind When they look in to your eyes When they look in to your eyes Oh please, please, please: look in to my eyes One last time Before I die The secret on your lips falls without ever being told The love in your heart will die before your blood even starts to run cold You are nothing, you are nothing, you are nothing to them But bones and blood If they want you They will take you There is nothing that you can do If you stare in to the night Do not fear the shadows, but the lights behind When they look in to your eyes When they look in to your eyes Oh please, please, please: look in to my eyes One last time Before I die

I am the sting silhouetted in lightning You’re mine ‘fore you hear the thunder To let you live in shame or let you die in vain What would be worse I wonder? I mark myself revolution I mark myself revolution Nothing will be the same Blood on my face and an oath on my lips And the tip of my blade to your throat These streets are mine and these words will remind you The lines on your face that I wrote I mark myself revolution I mark myself revolution Nothing will be the same
